A SPIRIT-EMPOWERED CHURCH WITH A HEART FOR TRANSFORMATION.
Transformation Church started as a vision in the hearts of Pastor Shirley B. Ellis and her husband, Rick. In 2012, while serving in other ministry roles, they felt the Holy Spirit’s call to plant a church that would reach the lost, deeply disciple believers, and bring real hope to the lost and hurting in Montville.
After years of prayer and preparation, and with the support of Reach Northeast and the Southern New England Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God, Pastor Shirley and Rick bought a building in Oakdale in June 2015. Just a few months later, on September 20, 2015, Transformation Church opened its doors with the mission.

From the beginning, Transformation Church has been about more than Sunday services. It’s a
community where people of all backgrounds can experience the life-changing power of Jesus,
grow in faith, and be equipped to serve. Through passionate worship, Spirit-led preaching, and
authentic relationships, we believe God transforms lives one heart at a time.
Today, Transformation Church is a growing, vibrant family of believers dedicated to bringing
light to Oakdale and the surrounding communities. Our ministries continue to expand — from
dynamic children’s and youth programs to life groups, outreach efforts, and global missions
partnerships. We are a proud part of the Assemblies of God, holding to its foundational beliefs in salvation
through Jesus Christ, baptism in the Holy Spirit, divine healing, and the soon return of our Lord.
We are committed to being a church that lives out faith with courage and compassion,
empowering each believer to walk in their God-given purpose.
